this song always makes me think not of the love i dont have. but the love that will come. so unlike other love songs it doesnt hurt to listen to. I love it and i love switchfoot. i dont usually to listen to christian bands but im obviously making a exception here. rock on boys!  |

I feel the same swtchft luva , and i soooo love this song , i love the piano part in this song and.........oh my , Tim Foreman is like.......hot. I mean c'mon girls , when i went to go c them live in Tahoe , he look gooooooooood , so if you think he's attractive i toootally agree , i think it makes the music sound better to me. |

This song is beautiful, it can take many different meanings to different people, and it is sung so awesome. Before this song I had no idea who Switchfoot was and after hearing this one song, I bought their cd, and I absolutly love them. Rock On!! |

I love this music . The lyrics are perfect, they say everything that I want to say sometimes, but it just won't come out of me. Have you ever been on fire when "she/he"'s near you? I don't know, but it as to be a beautiful feeling, to make the author write such a beautiful song. I just LOVE Swithfoot, they're musics are amazing, they have wonderfull lyrics, and perfect melodies. |

This song is amazing. It's beautiful; what a gift to be able put something as powerful as the personal relationship between God and an individual into words and music and use it to touch so many people's lives. Everyone who has posted about this song is a testament to that. I think it is incredibly naive to think that this song is merely about human love. To label it a "love song" is a disservice not only to the artists but those that read those postings as well. It is evidence of severe miseducation on the part of the poster and of those who read the postings. It's sad, really. What do the lines "Everything inside you knows there's more than what you've heard. There's so much more than empty conversations filled with empty words" mean if not listen closely. The world feeds us lies. The world places importance on trivial matters, such as having a lot of money, or (if you're in high school) being popular, or being physically beautiful. The world tells us to be independent, to march to the beat of our own drum, and at the same time demands conformity. The world's words are empty. "They tell you where you need to go. They tell you when you need to leave. They tell you what you need to know. They tell you who you need to be." But the singer says that there is more. "We were meant to live for so much more," he says in another song. Jesus says in the bible that He came so that we may "have life and have it to the full" (John 10:10). That's why the singer is "on fire." He says that God is the only hope he has for change, because God is the only one who can transform his life. That's why this song is so important. This song is about a total and complete trust in God's faithfulness to change his life. |

amen to that martinkl...its like anything you say its nothing unless its of God and is worshiping God. This song is like saying give me everything you wanna give me.. show your plan. i think its also saying that when you think you've given up on the world and when you think no one is there and that your alone...theres always gonna be God there no matter what you've done just no matter what. Its also like saying i give up Lord, Change me. Make ME what you want me to be then let me change what you want me to change. Its a sign of surrender but thats all for now

| this song doesnt have to just be about God...this song is about anything that means alot to you. music can be taken anyway and it doesn't matter what the artist intends for it to mean...its more important what you think it means. yea switchfoot is mainly christian but not all songs have to be taken religiously just because they are a christian band |
