Getting many hits in her career, the song that launched her has been "La Plus Belle Pour Aller Danser" in 1963, in the ye-ye times, when she was Johnny's fiancée, she performed at Paris' Olympia with Trini Lopez & the newcomers Beatles. Born in Bulgaria, Sylvie Vartan moved to France at 8 & signed to RCA thanks to her brother Eddy, artistic director. Married in 1965, her son David Hallyday was born the following year. She started her international career in the early 70's, learning dance & making sparkling shows. In 1973, she performed "J'Ai Un Problème" with Johnny, they divorced some years later & in 1981, she met the Italo-American producer Tony Scotti. After her role in Jean-Claude Brisseau's film "L'Ange Noir" in 1993, she called many songwriters for her albums Toutes Les Femmes Ont Un Secret & Sensible in 1996 & 1998 (both have been N°29 in France) : Luc Plamondon, Richard Cocciante, Jean-Louis Murat, Yves Simon, Didier Barbelivien, Jay Alanski, Marc Lavoine, Fabrice Aboulker, David Hallyday... In 2004, she released her album Sylvie (N°19) & her autobiography "Entre L'Ombre Et La Lumière". She performed at Paris' Palais Des Congrès one month & half after her 60th birthday. This summer, she's back with Toutes Peines Confondues, 2 years after her 60's cover album Nouvelle Vague.
