3 posts	Actually, I believe it has something to do with the idea that in the afterlife, we lose our personality, to join some common pool of consciousness and finally see ultimate reality. We 'lose ourselves but find it all' 'in the void.' The river represents life, since it seems one-way (i.e. birth to death, but never the reverse). The small mind would be the narrow perspective that mortality imposes.
