But I think when he says "swimming through the void we hear the word, we lose ourselves but find it all"it means when we die, we hear god speaking to us then when we get to heaven, we find it all. Thats probably not what it means but thats what i think! SOAD #1!!

4 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal okay. since i'm new, i'm not going to "fry" somebody. okay, serj and daron said that when they wrote this song, they thought of a little boy in a wheelchair at the circus watching an acrobat do flips on the tightrope. by the way, i know what i'm talking about i gave this song a great in all categories because it is great. the lyrics are all metaphorical, which most good bands use. serj tankian has a great voice too. he has great intonation and range. although the famiiliar guitar part after each verse is pretty easy to play, the rest of the song would be difficult to play. (plus, guitar is as hard as crap to play) i hope you guys aren't bored

I'm doing research and trying to see what I can find. It seems to be that we take things and don't want to share. That before we take things, and then after when we die,we just blame it on other things. Life is a waterfall, you go down and lose ur self. We are the ones that want it but if we can't get it then we don't to really do it. This song is really kool. And sometimes we take is so far we end life. This is how I interpret it. Kinda reminds me of suicide. But this song is good, and peace out to all my peoples. hail to SYSTEM OF A DOWN i love them so fricken much rock on!

1 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal I think this song is about the way humans act, the comparison to a waterfall works because the river before the waterfall is sort of like the eternity before we are born, as well as the river after the waterfall, eternity of the afterlife. We lost ourselves but we find it all, I think that's about how humans have the need for having a lot of material things, and they think that cars, big houses, clothes, all of material things represent happiness, and in the search of all of that we loose what really matters, which is ourselves. And we want everything, thinking we deserve all great things and the world owes us. "Always want to play but you never want to lose", it's all about what WE want. And drinking from the river and then putting up a wall, is like, we take all of the good stuff, and when we are done with it we just close up.
