Now THIS is a tune. I can imagine the mosh pit now actually. Quite probably the best song on the album imo.

this album is far from pop. i absolutely love it. there isnt a song i dont like. and as for this song, well i enjoy having the little bit of techno and smoothness added to this song. add that to the schizophrenic guitar and i think we got ourselves one great song.

hey, i hate to break it to you all, but in a sense system of a down is pop. Its popular music, it has singles on MTV etc. I know a lot of people will argue and say that its not pop because of blah and blah and blah, but youve got to face the facts. NO, it is NOT pop in the sense that britney spears is pop. I personally am not a huge fan of their new stuff at all, but i still hold them in much higer regard than britney spears, eminem etc etc etc

ok, i have to bring this up first: if something is popular (like soad) its pop. not underground. pop isnt realy a music genre... but then there are more or less commercial music. soad aint commercial. not like britney spears anyway ... END OF LINE!

anyway... SOAD ROXXXX AND THIS ALBUM TOO ( AND THIS SONG)

ok guys. i have 2 sort out yet another arguement. FOnt is sorta rite. wen we are tlkin in the sense of "pop" meaning popular, soad wud be called pop, just not in the sense like rnb sorta pop. besides, wots wrong wid soad bein POPular????!!!!! thats surely a good thing idiots! it means more ppl like them. plus.... kolkozas, soad do kick ass, to us, just becos u dont like them. pl hu wanna say they hate em shud say y and us hu love em shud say y. it wud mean non of this shite goin on. and now ive met them everythings changed 4 me. about the song, i love it.

i agree with misschatterbox. the best / most influential band of all time was a pop band. if you dont know who they are, you suck but ill assume that everyone here does know.

commercial and pop arent the same thing. however, in a sense, system's decision to break up mesmerize/hypnotize into 2 cds, rather that releasing them as a double cd, was a very commercial thing to do. to back up this argument, lets look at some other artists who have done the same thing recently: nelly, with Sweat and [i cant remember the name of the 2nd one] and Usher with confessions [i might be wrong, but i think this was 2 albums?]. it's a commercial move in that they opted to release it as 2 cds purely for the extra money they'll receive by doing so. and yes, even though i dont like any of the new singles, i am going to buy both cds, because system used to be one of my favourite bands.

Wow. There seems to be quite a heated disagreement as to whether SOAD is pop or hardcore. Allow me to offer my "informed" opinion.

I would define "pop" music as falling into one of two categories:

1: Artists that get by on their looks and not their music (Britney, N'sync, etc.)

2: Talentless "rock" bands that sound exactly like every other talentless "rock" band (Incubus, Switchfoot, etc)

System of a down is too unique to fall into either of these categories. Their music rarely has anything in the form of a recognizable structure, often used odd rhythms and chord structures, and they draw heavily on, of all things, eastern European folk melodies. Are they hardcore? Not really, but I don't think that's what it's supposed to be. SOAD are their own genre, especially on this new album. And I think they deserve credit for that more than anything else.

Amazing song! Perfect insertion of that "eletronic" thing or whatever that is. I don't know who is Frankie Avalon nor Jack Gilardi, but that must be relevant :p

This is really, really good. In my brain, the name isn't Lost In Hollywood, it's named "Darons song"
So: Daron, in this song, you're god
