| Song lyrics |
What I thought wasn't mine
In the light was a one of a kind
A precious pearl
When I wanted to cry
I couldn't 'cause I wasn't allowed
Gomenasai for everything
Gomenasai, I know I let you down
Gomenasai till the end
I never needed a friend like I do now
What I thought wasn't all so innocent
Was a delicate doll of porcelain
When I wanted to call you and ask you for help
I stopped myself
Gomenasai for everything
Gomenasai, I know I let you down
Gomenasai till the end
I never needed a friend like I do now
What I thought was a dream, a mirage
Was as real as it seemed, a privilege
When I wanted to tell you I made a mistake
I walked away
Gomenasai for everything
Gomenasai
Gomenasai
I never needed a friend like I do now
Gomenasai, I let you down
Gomenasai
Gomenasai till the end
I never needed a friend like I do now

It means "I'm sorry"... in Japanize I think. But this is one of my favorites! I love their accent! It totally fits in with the lyrics! | 12-12-2005 21:54 sinofsins | 2 posts

Yeah.. it's Japanese for I'm sorry.. even though saying 'Gomen ne' Is more popular and widely used. | 14-12-2005 18:36 NiceLittleGirl |

actually, gomenasai means goodbye in japanese. the formal goodbye is supposed to be 'oyagomenasai', so gomenasai is informal. anw this song rox n its so similar to happy bdae by flipsyde | 27-04-2006 17:57 Welho | 121 posts

A nice song, but why does it sound so much like Flipsydes Happy Birthday? It even has some same lyrics... Who's copying who? | 01-05-2006 20:15 Marchelew | 2 posts
| It is Flipsyde whos take lyrics from TATU :-) Gomenasai was first - Happy birthday was second :-) | 04-05-2006 12:34 gry | 22 posts

This is the worst song from t.A.T.u and also the video really cheesy and 100 percent cheap look
I don't enjoy it a lot...

It's corny yes , but its good , I actually enjoyed the video a lot , and the lyrics are pretty good when you're in that kind of situation ... So.... if it's not I'm sorry , the whole meaning changes , so I guess its a very sad song, isn't it?
I can't get enough of their supposed lesbian relationship , if it were true I'd be a bigger fan (although it has nothing to do) | 01-09-2006 14:28 applejuice2424 | 1 posts
| Haven't heard the song but I want to...
Gomenasai does not mean goodbye in Japanese... It mean's "I'm sorry" or "Please excuse me," depending on the context!!
Goodbye is either "Sayoonara", "Ja mata ne!"/"Ja ne!" (See you later/See ya) or if you want to say goodnight it's "Oyasuminasai" which is possibly what you got confused with... | 21-10-2006 14:13 Dreamondreamon | 7 posts

This is such a cool song.. when i readed the word gomenasai i was already like oh i really want to listen to it because i'm a real big anime fan..
When i heard the song at first i found it kinda boring but thats normal ain't it..
I downloaded it anyway and then i really liked it..
I like that the video is animated but it's kinda boring and doesn't has a good story and it's too slow but i like it anyway because it's anime
And it's true that gomenasai means i'm sorry if you don't know just watch more anime | 20-12-2006 02:34 Thunderbird | 6 posts
| I'm not a fan of neither this band or this song (seeing as they ripped off the original "Happy Birthday" song by Flipsyde.), but I feel obliged to correct you, applejuice2424. Though your understanding of the Japanese words were correct, your spelling was not. What you spelled "Sayoonara" is actually spelled "sayonara", same goes for "Ja mata ne" and ""Ja ne" wich is actually spelled "ja matane" and "jyaane". Sorry for being picky, but it's in my nature. | 11-01-2007 00:48 xlafeatx | 80 posts

soo what the fuck about the
meaning of the word
if it means something
it must be good
i just heard this song
and i think its good
because it doest use
those
high notes that
TATU always use on their
singing, that i actually,
find annoying,
good song
but poor video
because i dont like
anime
and its kinda weird
its like a combination
of transformers
meets pokemon
or yu gi oh i guess
well those are the only anime
cartoons i know
but whatever
peace!

Thunderbird: Since the japanese write in characters rather than the alphabet you and I use, it doesn't matter if you spell it jyaane or ja ne or whatever, as long as the sound is the same. That's why different spellings for, say, anime characters are found, because they are romanized differently by whomever is typing prefers them written. Further more, it's more common to see ja ne.
On the song, I think it's pretty cute. Not my favourite song, and the video bored me to death, but it's sweet. | 10-10-2007 01:24 kiotsukatanna | 1 posts

Okay. I just plain love this song. It has to be my favorite T.A.T.U. song. (Let us just disregard the fact that it was the first song I heard by them... ) I actually first heard this song in an anime music video for one of my favorite shows ever called Inuyasha. But that's beside the point. This is a good song and I like it. Especially the lyrics. ^.^ I could probably listen to it several times over. Though I do have one question. I keep hearing about a music video for this song but have never actually seen it. Can someone please tell me where I can find it? | 29-10-2007 23:53 Petroviic |
