Good news ! If 2011 may be the year of the come-back, Texas' one should be added. Despite decreasing sales since Careful What You Wish For, Sharleen Spiteri & her mates haven't said their last word yet...

Singer Sharleen Spiteri said that her band Texas got together again, to record new songs in studio. The Scottish band should release a new album in May. We don't have any news about their musical direction. There should still be Texas' rock influences, for 20 years. In 1989, the band released their first single "I Don't Want A Lover". We also remember "Say What You Want" (1997), "Summer Son" (1999), "In Demand" (2000) & "Inner Smile" (2001). By entering the 21st century, the Scottish band has been unnoticed. Their sixth album Careful What You Wish For, released in 2003, hasn't been successful in charts, same case for the follow-up Red Book in 2005, not being as popular as "Black Eyed Boy" (1997) & "In Our Lifetime" (1999).

Sharleen Spiteri released her first solo album in 2008, Melody, which first single has been "All The Times I Cried". Although it had been unnoticed, the singer released the follow-up last year : The Movie Songbook. A nice idea to cover songs from films, a pleasure for the cinema fan artist, with 21 years of career. The 13 songs have been recorded in only 8 days, at Hollywood's Capitol Studios. The singer, very happy, said : "I've been to Sinatra's studios, with his musicians, Michael Jackson's guitarist & Luther Vandross' backing vocalist. It was unreal !"

Sharleen Spiteri will also play with Dawn Steele in the film "Between Weathers". The film will be shot in the Shetland Islands, during this year.

Texas will perform on July 8 at Cognac's Blues Passion festival.
