'Conexion Thalía' Worth $5 Mil to ABC

 Senora Mottola gets $5 mil radio show in ABC bid to attract Spanish-language listeners.
Mexican pop superstar Thalia has signed a $5 million dollar deal to host "The Conexion Thalia Radio Show" for ABC Radio Networks. The show, which debuted March 17, is a bid for the growing Spanish-language audience, and focuses on Latino issues of lifestyle and community, ranging from fashion and gossip to immigration and health care.
Sources close to the deal predict the ad revenue will triple within months of its launch. The show has already garnered ad dollars from Pontiac and Amtrak, and a major bank whose base is largely Latino is signing an ad contract. It's expected to benefit from Thalia's popularity in Latino markets - the singer has sold over 12 million records worldwide - along with the connections of her husband, music megalith and Mariah ex Tommy Mottola.
"Conexion Thalia" airs initially on ABC Radio en Espanol in New York, LA, Chicago, and Miami. |
