@ I'm Looking Through You
Rubber Soul was the first album to diverge from the format that was established since the Beatles first album. It featured innovative instrumentation (sitar and more subdued voicings) as well as songs that were different but maintained a consistant sound. There are no wasted notes in the arrangements. This particular song was another of their many Country/Western style offerings yet the lyrics are atypical to C&W themes. In the song "you've changed" is not the true situation. It is the singer's perspective that has changed and invalidated the love that was thought to be there. This song has no gender references, by the way, and could be sung by anyone.

@ All You Need Is Love
I am surprised by the beginning of this song, because it is the same as my national anthem!

If you want an easy but solid rocker for your band you can't beat this song! Remember to take it down a half step from B flat to A for ease of playing. Also, the last line as it fades out goes from D - Dm - A. Personally I think all the early Beatles songs were a half step high to sweeten the sound or throw other musicians off the easy chord structure or for both reasons. If you check out the early songbooks, they're all in flats, keys that guitar players never really play in much (E,A,D,G being all sharp keys commonly used by guitars.

@ Yer Blues
Though satirical, one of my favorite Beatles' songs. Listen to the version of this song with the "Dirty Mac" (Lennon, Clapton, Richards and Mitch Michell) extraordinary.

@ For No One
Didn't this track influence the melody to Marc Lavoine's song "Elle A Les Yeux Revolver" ?
