Rockers Fight Against Racism

04-10-2006 23:29 | 1 reaction(s) | add reaction | add news
Former Libertines member Carl Barat, currently a member of Dirty Pretty Things is urging music fans throughout the Uk to join the fight against racism and bigotry.
Carl is involved in the LoveMusicHateRacism campaign, which organises positive events and activities to bring people together against right-wing organisations inculding the British National Party (BNP)
Barat says, "For evil to triumph, all that is necessary is that good people do nothing. Apathy is a killer and it's easy to be complacent. We're dedicated to this in the same way we're dedicated to melody and bringing people together through music."

I think this kind of campaign could work a lot better than the "Bono" and "Bob Geldof" against "World Poverty" one, as the only change that really needs to be made for this one is attitude.

I wish some of these concerts were happening in NZ!
