THE MARS VOLTA Amputechture (GSL/Universal) The Mars Volta is the creative partnership formed in 2001 between bandleader/composer/guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and lyricist/vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala. The Mars Volta's first recorded output was the three-song Tremulant EP, released April 2002 on the Gold Standard Laboratories label. I'm sure you're going to hate me for saying this but it has to be said. I dislike The Mars Volta. My friend was at one point obsessed with them, therefore I was forced to listen to them a lot more than I wanted to. First off, I actually find that their songs lack a certain energy, I don't know, maybe it's just because of the music I'm used to, but I just found it to be rather annoying. I personally... »
