Song lyrics
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the tsar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made

I shouted out,
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reach Bombay

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down

Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!

Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame

Oh, who
woo, woo
Woo, who
Woo, woo
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah

What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name

Well i love this song, too but what do you understand from the text? What do you think it is about? am i right in thinking that the entire world is influenced by the devil and that there are so many bad people out there? maybe the philosophy is simmilar to Pearl Jam's Do the evolution ( album: Yield).

Have you seen the video of the Neptunes' remix? It helped me to understand the Lyrics a lot more! I am but a simple 15 year old, so it helped a substantial amount!

I absolutley love this song! I love the singing of Lisa Fischer and Bernard Fowler in the background! They weren't in the original, it was the Stones' girlfriends and ALO, but the 4F version is cool. I am so jealous that your teacher let you play it! Mine wouldn't! She hates the Stones!

We have one teacher at our school, he's a dude. He has long hair and is really punkified! he used to tattoo himself too. He listens to the Stones all the timeso I am in my element! I am rambling now, better go! LoL!

this song is good. the guns N roses version seems more well known though. Too bad.

And i was wondering, i heard that the crowd got really upset when this song was first played. does anyone know why or what happened?

good song though

one of their defining moments - jagger owns the lead and you can imagine lucifer himself singing it. That and keith richards' guitar makes this top drawer in my opinion.

The song's about the crucifixion of Christ, WWII, 100 Years war, and the Russian Revolution. There's also the conspiracy of the Kennedy's too. It was originally called "The Devil is My Name". There's your answer on what it's about. I had to do a report on it for school haha

Other than that I love this song
