I feel I need to qualify this for some reason, but I am probably the oldest fan of The Used out there.
Anyway, The Used is the band I consider to be the best that has come along in the last five years (at least in terms of discography).
Overall, Lies For The Liars is an AMAZING album, with just slight downgrades in lyrics, rhythym and instruments, IMHO.
My only beef with the lyrics is repetition and reliance on the same lines/verses within a few of the tracks. Rhymthically, I am a big fan The Used's chunky changes in their songs...almost creating songs within songs if you get my drift. But that leads to me to my slight disfavor in this CD's experimentation with electronics/effects within the rhythms. They seem awkward and unnecessary, but I'll admit they are a sign of the times. And a sign of still growing, maturing, experimenting group of musicians.
OK. My discomfort with the review so far here is omission of bonus tracks included on various brick and mortar retail releases and internet download releases.
Devil Beside You, Pain, My Pesticide and Slit Your Own Throat are better than all but two of the tracks on main CD. These tracks are must haves. | | 14-08-2007 15:52 theused4 |

Ive heard this Cd over and over for the past like 4 months i think and i have to say that i absolutely adore it!! The Used ROCKS!!! I loooove them. The bonus tracks are also pretty nice. Love it, love it, love it!!  Yeah also in my top 5 favorite CDs of all times!! |
