Warner Bros act The Veronicas get own game

Digital agency Kerb has launched a browser-based game to promote the new single and album from Australian pop duo The Veronicas.

Kerb won the commission from Warner Bros in a competitive pitch against four other agencies, delivering a Flash mini-game to mark the release of The Veronicas new single 'Untouched' and new album 'Hook Me Up'.

The game, which is live on The Veronicas website, features branding, photos and cartoon artwork of the band.

The single is integrated into gameplay to encourage players to continue through to the end of the track.

In the game, players take the role of a musician and helps The Veronicas complete their new song by catching "electro pop riffs" as they sing.

Kerb said the game appeals to a wide range of The Veronicas target audiences and players can also click through to purchase the single and album. The game is currently being seeded on third party websites.

Jim McNiven, managing director of Kerb, said: "This project has a great blend of focuses for us as we have a strong heritage in music as well as a decade's experience in developing games which have the right levels of difficulty to challenge a broad range of players."

The single-into-game concept has been done before, notably with Lily Allen single 'The Fear' by Matmi for EMI in February.
