um im not realyl sure if its about 9/11 i think its more about the media....like a paper tiger is probably something like false fears...you know like a real tiger is scary.....a paper one isnt. Like the song says "they toss paper tigers" im pretty sure that talking about how the media and well the government instills false hope in america to get the country to follow. Maybe?

I guess you're right.
thrice have amazing lyrics but I can't get anything from all this screaming! I think they should have sung it in a more relaxed way, and then it would be a real good song!

first of all this song owns, but i think its about the american media throwing out faflse info on the military, the verse "left in the funeral pyre but they never seem to learn" may be about the lost of american lives in armed conflict, and "light the world on fire just to watch it burn" may be about americas involvement in most war situations worldwide, this could possibly be thrices views on american involvememnt worldwide

I could've sworn I made a post for this song. Anyways, it's definitely one of my favorite Thrice songs (tied with Silhoutte, For Miles, and Under a Killing Moon).

i think this song is about terrorists... you know, blowing up places(they light the world on fire just to watch it burn?) and then, well, they'll get killed by the armies because of it (it'll be their funeral pyre)... i dunno something like that
