He deserves to be a big star, he's really not a musician, he truly is an artist and i can't think of a single band/artist that is more talented but sadly i don't think he'll ever break through to the masses. Oh well, their loss!  |

10,981 posts | He got great reviews from magazines and newspapers here too and the only person who i know who has heard of him is my friend who i introduced to his music! 
The Times said: "The problem with McRae is he could become a very big star indeed" hmm. I loved one description of him: "dark as the inside of a cello" i think that just fits. I have dozens of favourite bands/artists but he does just clinch the spot of my all time favourite.  |

I heard about him for the first time on the train in london, my brother played his music to me. Karaoke Soul was the first song I remembered, and the first thing I did when I got home was to get his music. I thank my brother so so much for that, he totally changed my taste in music. I think both the albums are equally good, it's so hard to choose a favourite. he's gotten great reviews in Norwegian newspapers and magazines, but none of my friends have heard of him, only my brother. |

i'll never forget that legendary day when i saw and heard karaoke soul on tv for the first time and became forever hooked on him! I really like both albums but as a whole i think Tom McRae is a bit better than Just Like Blood. Got a fave album? Is he very popular in Norway? |

11,302 posts | mm....I love all of them, really, there's not one I don't like. but I've always been weak for "Overthrown" and "Karaoke Soul". "2nd Law" and "You Only Disappear" "End Of The World News" and so many more, there are too many great songs to choose from  |

Yay! another fan! that brings the total (that i konw of) to... 4! great. I like David Gray and i quite like Radiohead, particularly their earlier stuff I'll check out the others, thanx

I don't know about any more releases, but I think he is working on a new album now. Other artists I can think of now are Damien Rice, Magnet, Radiohead, maybe David Gray and Kings Of Convenience (Norwegian Group, maybe more Simon and Garfunkel style, but very good) |

10,981 posts | This is the best song on this album and this is the better of Tom McRae's two albums, if you like REAL music BUY THIS! it is awesome and is one of my favourite albums but beware, it is VERY dark at times I wish Tom McRae got more radio play time but then again that would probably triple the suicide rate!
If anyone knows if Tom McRae has any music released besides Tom McRae (the album) and Just Like Blood please post something cos i would love to know. Im also interested in hearing about any artists/bands with similar styles thanx |
