| Song lyrics |
Someone told me once
That there's a right and wrong.
And that punishment was cure
For those who dare to cross the line.
But it must not be true for jerk-offs like you.
Maybe it takes longer to catch a total asshole.
But I'm tired of waiting.
Someone told me once
That there's a right and wrong,
And that punishment was cure
For those who dare to cross the line.
But it must not be true for jerk-offs like you.
Maybe it's just bullshit
and I should play GOD
and shoot you myself.
Because I'm tired of waiting.
Consequences dictate our course of action
And it doesn't matter what's right.
It's only wrong if you get caught.
If consequences dictate my course of action
I should play GOD and just shoot you myself.
I'm very tired of waiting.
DIE!
Someone told me once
that there's a right and wrong,
and that punishment
would come to those
who dare to cross the line.
But it must not be true
for jerk-offs like you.
Maybe it takes longer to catch a total asshole.
but I'm tired of waiting.
Maybe, yes, it's just bullshit and I should play GOD,
and shoot you myself.*
Because I'm tired of waiting.
Consequences dictate
our course of action
and it doesn't matter what's right.
It's only wrong if you get caught.
If consequences dictate
my course of action
I should play GOD
and shoot you myself.*
I'm very tired of waiting.
I should
kick you,
beat you,
fuck you,
and then shoot you in your fucking head.

I wouldn't say this is Tool's absolute best song, but it's certainly ONE of their best. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I love it. Heh, and it brings back some stuff about my "friend" being angry at me because I had "I should play God and shoot you myself." on my MSN screen name. Something about how God doesn't shoot people. o_o; I think he misunderstood the lyric...though he's heard this song before...>_>; Anyway...awesome song, either way. ^^
"There used to be a bunch of assholes that lived in this part of the building here. But we systematically removed them like you would any kind of termite or roach."
I love that part.

There isn't an asterisk near the last line. For those who have looked let me tell you what the asterisk means, (if someone did this already then disregard). For most of the AEnima tour this song wasn't on the setlist, so to get it back he changed some of the lyrics. Apparently "shoot you myself and shoot you in your fucking head" was overdone and behind the times.
The change is now
-I should play God and fuck you myself
and
-My foot in your fucking ass |
