| well, i love no quarter, not my favorite Zeppelin song, but i like it, i like the whole eerie piano/ water-logged vocal sound. i really can't think of a better band to cover this song that Tool.

i definately think the Tool version is better, if only for its 10-folding of energy compared to the Zeppelin version, my personal favourite Zepp is probably either How Many More Times or What is And Should Never Be, both from BBC sessions disc 1
Maynards vocals get so intense near the end, and then the scream.......ahhh *orgasms*

Agreed... best damn cover ever made... MJK's voice (and this is comin' from a dude  ) sent shivers up my spine when I first heard this cover. Chilling, dark, poetic, and mind-bogglin' like every Tool song. And no disrespect to Zepp, who served as one of Tool's influences, but this outdoes the original. Only thing I'd say about it is the lyrics.. would've been nice if they had the howling dogs and devil thing going, but that's just me a sick, evil mofo 
And for those that are wondering what the phrase "No Quarter" means, it's pirate talk for No Mercy... should give you folks what the song's about. |
