Vanessa Chantal Paradis was born on December 22, 1972 in Saint-Maur-Des-Fossés, France. Her sister is actress Alysson Paradis. Vanessa first appeared on TV at 7, in the TV show "L'Ecole Des Fans". 5 years later, she released her first single, "La Magie Des Surprises-Parties". She really started her career in 1987 with "Joe Le Taxi", a success in France & in United Kingdom. The singles "Manolo Manolete" & "Marilyn & John" followed & her first album Marilyn & John was released in 1988. In 1989, Vanessa started being an actress & received a César "Meilleur Espoir Féminin" for the film "Noces Blanches". After that, she continued her career between studios, films & concerts.
Vanessa was also the model for the perfume company Chanel. Her boyfriend is Johnny Depp since 1998. On May 27, 1999, her daughter Lily-Rose Mélody was born. The same year, Vanessa was the star of "La Fille Sur Le Pont", the film was a success in Europe & in the States. In 2000, she came back with her fourth album Bliss, composed by, among others, Mathieu Chedid. This album showed a woman, a mother, happy & blissful. On April 10, 2002, her son Jack was born. In 2004, Vanessa was the star & the lead singer of the film "Atomik Circus", as a country singer. In 2005, she was the star of the film "Mon Ange". In 2007, helped by Mathieu Chedid, Thomas Fersen & Alain Chamfort, she came back with her album Divinidylle. On December 15, 2007, French Culture Minister Christine Albanel decorated Vanessa "Chevalier Des Arts Et Des Lettres". In 2008, she received 2 Victoires De La Musique, "Female Artist" & "Album". |
