Whitney at Fashion Rocks

Whitney Houston turned heads with an unexpected appearance at the Fashion Rocks charity event in London on Thursday (October 18.) night.

Wearing a Valentino dress, Houston, 44, took to the stage to present the final segment of the show and speak about The Prince's Trust, a charity devoted to helping young people in trouble.

"I know I've said before, but I'm going to say again, thank you so much for your support," she told the crowd. "And yes, I will always love you very much."

The singer's appearance was not promoted, and not even the other surprise guest, Patti LaBelle, knew she would attend.

Houston, who has been rebounding from a well-publicized drug and alcohol problem, split from her husband of 14 years, Bobby Brown, last year. The two have since been involved in a custody battle over their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
