AboutYann Tiersen is a French composer and musician, born on June 23, 1970 in Brest, France. He spent his childhood in Rennes, where he learnt piano & violin. Later, Yann played in rock bands. In 1995, he released his first album La Valse Des Monstres, that showed the Tiersen style. The following year, Rue Des Cascades came out, still confidential, until Le Phare in 1998, the album that revealed Yann. In 1999, he became a singer on 2 songs from his album Tout Est Calme. In 2001, Yann received a Victoire de la Musique for the film "Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulain".
