Song lyrics
I could tell you the wildest of tales
My friend the giant and traveling sails
Tell you all the times that I've failed
The years all behind me the stories exhaled

And I'm drying out
Crying out
This isn't how I go

I could tell you of a man not so tall
Who said lifes a circus and so we are small
Tell you of a girl that I saw
I froze in the moment and she changed it all

And I'm drying out
Crying out
This isn't how I go
Hurry now
Lay me down
And let these waters flow...flow

Son I am not everything
You thought that I would be
But every story I have told
Is part of me

You keep the air in my lungs
Floating along as a melody comes
My heart beats like timpani drums
Keeping the time while a symphony strums

And I'm drying out
Crying out
This isn't how I go
Hurry now
Lay me down
And let these waters flow...flow
Let it flow
Let it flow

Son I am not everything
You thought that I would be
But every story I have told
Is part of me
Son I leave you now but you have so much more to do
And every story I have told is part of you

i havent seen big fish, but i think its a song about ryan's dad, just like life of a salesman... did he die or something?? cause it says "son i leave you now..."
anyway, this is a good song, and natalie (the female voice) its cool too...

No... watch Big Fish and you will understand. The last 4 lines of the song is basically what the movie is about.

yes this song does have many connections to the movie 'big fish' but no it has nothing to do with ryan's father, though 'life of a salesman' does.

great song.

the female voice in the background is natalie maines of 'the dixie chicks'

I really love this song It's becoming one of my favourites. A good friend of mine introduced it to me and i'm really glad that she did. It's just complete awesomeness! xD I think the harmonies are especially good. It really adds to the song, rather than takes away

This song is very special to me. It might seem kinda sad, but it reminds me that my Dad's time is next in line.

The reason it's comforting is b/c I feel it as my Dad telling me the story. --and that he's part of me and he will live on.

I reference it on my myspace page. "Notification of Passing"
