AboutYoussoupha Mabiki was born on August 29, 1979 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He is the son of musician & politician Tabu Ley Rochereau. At 10, his family moved to France. In 2002, Youssoupha formed the band Les Frères Lumières. In 2005, he went solo, signed to Hostile & released his DVD Éternel Recommencement.
In 2007, after having been a supporting act for American rappers 50 Cent, Method Man, Redman & Snoop Dogg, he released his debut album À Chaque Frère. It sold 50,000 copies. The same year, he appeared in "Popstars" fourth season on M6.
In October 2009, his second album Sur Les Chemins Du Retour came out. After an international tour, he came back in 2011 with En Noir Et Blanc, a remix album. In January 2012, he released his third album Noir Désir, with featurings by Corneille, Indila, S-Pi & Taipan.
