AboutZoë Pollock (January 19th, 1969) is an British pop singer/songwriter from London, England. Under the artist name Zoë, the singer had a couple of hits in the 90s. In 1991, her song 'Sunshine on a Rainy Day' reached #4 in the UK Top 40 in 1991. 'Lightning' reached #37 in the same year. In total, she released two solo albums and five singles. She also sang backing vocals on Bananarama's album 'Pop Life'.
Five years later, Zoë tried to re-enter the music scene with a new album, titled 'Hammer'. Unlike her previous work, 'Hammer' had an American rock sound to it. Unfortunately, the title track failed to reach the UK Singles Chart.
Later in life, Zoë recorded an EP under the alias Hephzibah Broom. She and singer Sarah McQuaid then teamed up to form the female folk duo Mama. The pair released their debut album, 'Crow Coyote Buffalo', in late 2008. The album includes a folk re-recording of Zoë's song 'Sunshine on a Rainy Day'.
